Website editor
Website editor
Website editor is owner only. Staff who open it are sent back to Appointments. The editor is a preview of the real pages, with tools on the right.
The screen
Open Website editor from the dashboard. The top bar shows Draft or Published, and the address yourname.petpages.ai. The large area is the page a visitor would see, including the menu. Use the page picker, or Edit pages…, to switch Home, Services, Book, and the rest. Click a section in the preview and the right side jumps to that block.
Under the five tabs, a crumb reads Site, then Page, then Block. If you are lost, that line is the map. Click the page name to go back to Pages, or the block name to go back to Blocks.
Chat
Chat is for changes you can say in a sentence. Write in English. Good prompts name the shop fact and the page: “We’re Sunny Paws in Austin. Bath from $45. Add a gallery on the home page and polish the homepage copy.” Vague prompts (“make it better”) give vague edits.
- Attach can add images, video, or a PDF. Those files are for the editor to use, not automatically a public gallery.
- Send, or ⌘ / Ctrl + Enter. Wait until the preview updates before you send the next change.
- Use Pages when you want to add or reorder pages yourself. Use Blocks when you want to edit one headline. Chat is the shortcut, not the only way.
Pages and Blocks
Pages is the site map. Add a page, or a subpage under an existing one. Rename the title and the menu label separately if the menu should be shorter than the page title. Turn a page off in the menu without deleting the page.
Blocks is the section you clicked: headline, body, service list, photos, or a testimonial. Change the words here when you do not want AI to rewrite the whole page. A testimonial you type is what visitors read. The placeholder “Happy client” is only a sample until you replace the name and the quote.
Shop
Shop is the facts that show in the footer, the hours block, and the contact buttons. Public email here is optional and is not your owner login email. Change the login email under Account, not here.
- Name, phone, public email, and address. The address search works the same way as signup.
- Hours: set each weekday open or closed. A day can be split. Boarding shops can also set check-in and check-out windows.
- Sign in on your own website lets staff use a login page on the shop site. It does not create the staff users. Those are under Staff accounts.
- Show Updates on your website adds the Updates item to the public menu. It does not write posts. Posts still come from AI Marketing.
Look
Look applies to the whole site: colors, type, and the header. It is not per page.
- Upload a logo, or describe one and generate it. Replacing an existing logo asks you to confirm first.
- Match site style to the logo pulls colors from the mark you uploaded.
- Logo size is a slider for the header. The browser-tab icon follows the same logo, or the shop initials if you remove it.
Toolbar and Publish
- Refresh Unsplash photos swaps stock photos for a new set matched to the shop. Photos you uploaded stay.
- AI polish copy rewrites homepage headlines and section text in clear US English from the shop facts already saved. Read it. It will not know a price you never typed.
- AI hero photo generates a new banner for the homepage only.
- Publish makes the current draft the live site. If something required is missing, the bar lists what to fix and does not publish a broken page. Publishing again updates the live site. It does not create a second address.
