How PetPages fits together
PetPages is one toolkit for an independent pet business: a public website pet parents can find, and a private dashboard your team uses to book visits, keep customer records, and draft marketing. This guide walks through each piece the way you will actually use it.
Two places, one shop
Your public site lives at yourname.petpages.ai. That is what pet parents, Google, and walk-ins see: services, hours, a Book page, and optional Updates. Nothing in the dashboard is public until you publish the site or add a post to the website.
The dashboard is the private side. After you sign in, the left menu is the whole product. Owners see every item. Staff see only the items their role allows.
What is in the dashboard
- Website editor — owner only. Preview the site, change pages, and publish.
- Appointments — requests from the Book page, plus visits you create at the desk.
- Customers — people, pets, notes, and marketing email.
- AI Marketing — owner only. Draft social posts and put the keepers on your Updates page.
- Account & staff — your login, passwords, and who on the team can do what.
Who uses what
- Shop owner — builds and publishes the site, runs Marketing Studio, creates staff logins, and can do every appointment and customer task.
- Staff — work inside one shop. They never open the Website editor or AI Marketing. What they can change depends on the role you give them: Manager, Front desk, or Groomer / Care.
- Pet parents — only see the published website. The Book form is how a request becomes a customer and a pending appointment. They do not get a PetPages login.
How a normal day moves through the system
A pet parent opens the published site, reads Services and hours, and submits Book. That one form does two private things: it creates or updates the customer (matched by email) and it opens a Pending appointment. Nobody on the team has to retype the request.
Someone with permission opens that appointment, confirms it, and can send a confirmation email they edit first. After the visit they can attach photos and send a visit update. If Email updates consent is on, that person can also be included later in a marketing email from Customers.
Marketing is a separate path. The owner drafts posts in AI Marketing from the shop’s own services and about text. Copy post is for Instagram, Facebook, or Google. Add to website is the only way a post appears on the public Updates page, and only after Updates is turned on in the editor.
