Customers

A customer is a person who books with this shop — usually a pet parent — plus their pets. The record is private. It does not appear on the public website.

How records get here

The list is this shop only. Search covers name, email, and phone. You can sort by Name, Email, Phone, Created, or Updated.

From the Book form

A new email creates a customer. The same email on a later booking updates that person instead of making a duplicate. Pets on the form are saved on the profile. The home address is not collected on Book. Add it here if the desk needs it.

Add customer

  • First name, last name, and email are required.
  • Phone is optional.
  • Address is optional. Start typing to search. It is for staff. It is not shown on the public site, and the Book form does not ask for it.
  • Shop staff notes are internal. They never appear on the website.

Open a customer

Click a row. You can correct the name, email, and phone, and turn Email updates consent on or off. That checkbox is the permission for marketing email. Having an address on file is not enough. Save when you are done.

  • Pets: add a name and species, then fill breed and the rest on the pet. Upload a photo or files onto the pet, not onto the public site.
  • Removing a pet deletes it from this customer. Removing a pet from one visit, on the appointment screen, does not.
  • Past visits for this person are listed here, so you do not have to hunt them in Appointments.

Email customers

Email customers is a separate screen. People without an email, or without Email updates consent, are not in the recipient list. If the list is empty, that is why.

  • Select who should get this one message. You are not emailing the whole database unless you select them.
  • Write the subject and body yourself, or press Generate with AI and then edit. Do not send the first draft unread.
  • {{name}} becomes that person’s first name. Photos you place in the body stay in the message. Preview them before you send.
  • Check the box that says you reviewed the content and you are not over-emailing. The send stays disabled until that box is on.

Caps, so one click cannot empty the list: at most 100 people in one send, at most 200 marketing emails for the shop per day in US Eastern time, and at most one marketing email per person per day. Anyone who already got one today is skipped, even if you selected them.

Groomer / Care can look up customers but cannot add, edit, or open Email customers. Front desk and Manager can. Export is owner and Manager. Moving a list over from another system is not a self-serve upload — email support@petpages.ai and we will help.
